Going from rx7 to mr2.....
Hey. I'm totally new to the mr2. i don't know much about them except that i want one. i currently have a 93 rx7 single turbo that i'm trying to get rid of. Its a great car but i need something a little more economical. i've been looking at owner reviews on the mr2 and it seems like a great car. i'm more interested in the MK2 than the others. But not interested in alot of power, just something fun and economical. Hopefully this site will prove to be a reliable source of info. I haven't test driven one yet; they seem hard to find in the maryland area. And hopefully here, i can meet some mature people unlike some of those FD owners.....

Not that hard here in hawaii.
You would believe that they would be hard to find. Took me only about 20 days to find mine and right now there's like 5 or 6 on criagslist here. But I would have waited years for my 2. Lovum Good Luck. |

economical and fun = mr2 non-turbo. i know, i've owned both turbo and non-turbo. however, stuff a V6 in there with a turbo and you'll FLY! all the best, -hmong337 |

True that, it's really rare in FL. Actually just looking for anything turboed for years, then came across my first 2 about an hour out of town (some military girl/wife traded it while stationed there but originally came from Virginia) . Got lucky on the second one, actually found it in town (but I think came from Louisiana or something). Only problem is both weren't in perfect condition.

Yeah, it wasn't that hard finding my rx7. seems like alot of people want to get rid of them and alot want to buy them. Rotarys are alot of fun but they are very very picky with tuning; and even trying to get over 100k miles out of an FD is almost impossible. i hope i can find an mr2 soon... thanks

look on mr2trader.com you should be able to find what you want there in the next couple weeks or so. keep a close eye on it cause the really good deals dont last very log at all. you might have to make a little drive to get the car but it will be well worth it. I found my car 13 hrs away and met the guy half way but I would do it all over again to ahve the car. you will love this car if you like the 7. a small car with great handling that ,moves like no other haha. but be carful cause it does not drift at all like the 7 and watch your lead foot around corners or you might lose it a little more than you expect. sorry for the whole run down but check that out and I hope you really like it if you get it.

I've got about a 270 RWHP turbo MK2 and it's fast. It's nowhere near as ridiculous as my friend's old 400 RWHP FD (RX7weee for those of you who may know him) but it gets *slightly* better gas mileage and doesn't blow up as often (Hurray!)
I get around 22-26 driving like an asshole and 30+ just highway. More speed is in my future, but until I get my Hyundai POS daily driver this is perfect. |

HAHA... i'm sure it gets much better gas mileage. i'm always so cautious about romping on the gas in my 7. those things lean out even the slightest and a seal is gonna go Adding power is not hard at all though, but i'm not concerned with too much power anymore. a stock 3sgte is good enough![]() |

welcome aboard. from PA to VA there seems to be 2's popping up regularly.
A local has a single turbo FD, a mr2T, and just picked up a bone stock FD. Something about it.. most owners have had one or the other at some point. I went from 91t MR2 TO fc BACK TO THE MR2 |
