New to the board: Love my 2003 MR2, but worried about it!

Hello Everyone,

Glad to find this board. I got my MR2 spyder a few years ago and haven't had really any trouble with it. It's a great car and I'm looking forward to being on this board. Unfortunately, I found the board with a problem on my hands.

I don't know cars, just that I love my sequential shift spyder, and when I was driving this weekend I heard a "grrr" like it was downshifting involuntarily or something. Then I get to a stoplight and it dies and doesn't seem to want to shift in or out of 2nd and will die. SO when it dies, if I restart it and floor it, it will go, but if I stop it will die again. And the horrible “grr” sound keeps happening, I think its just when I shift but honestly I can’t remember.

Its only got 35K miles and Im worried its a big problem, does anyone know what this could be?

M

Bring it to the dealer. Luckily you are still under the factory powertrain warranty, 5 Years or 60,000 miles.
