G'Day From Downunder
Hey all,
My name is Chris from Brisbane, Australia! I'm a mechanical engineer who loves tinkering with cars, specialy Jap cars I also love mountains, and there is a group of us that do the local hills every friday night with all types of imports like Skyline GTR's, TT 300ZX's, SR20 180SX's, Supras, GT Starlets, Mitusbishi EVO's, Suburau STI's. No MR2's though, but that might soon change ![]() I currently own a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Naturally Aspirated 5 speed I imported from Japan. I have spent a silly amount of money on it and was planning a full rebuild at christmas time including a freshen up of the bottom end, full head build with HD springs, JWT R5 cams, oversize valves, ported head and intake manifold, tuned length extractors (was gonna make them myself )I added it all up the other day and it was a huge amount of money... So I decided I'd cut my losses and sell the Z and buy a newer more reliable car. I also sold my performance parts, I found out I had $5,500 worth of parts on my bedroom floor It's amazying how it adds up...So I'm looking at three differnt cars at the moment: 1. SW20 Gen 3 Turbo, probably a 1996 model. 2. JZA80 RZ Twin Turbo Supra, these aren't much more than a MR2 over here 3. R34 GT-T Skyline. Are you all jealous? We can import these no hassles from Japan ![]() So I'm here to poke around and learn as much as I can about the MR2 I will most probably get one as I can buy the very best MR2 for the price of a average TT Supra or Skyline. |
