From bad things may come good
I'm extremely noobie to the community, and the MR2 world, but have done extensive research on the car and am learning bits every time I check out the boards or scan the internet for various things of information regarding the MKII MR2.
I'll keep it short as possible. I used to own a 1999 Civic Si from early 2004, until it was stolen overnight recently the day before Halloween on October 30th 2007. I did my best to stray away from being that typical "civic kid", I hope you enjoy the photos I have to share. They in NO WAY cover the extensive experience I had with the Si and the phases it went through, but just show a tip of how it sat towards its ending days. I will spare details, but I can assure I have "been there, done that" minus anything fast and furious type. I was then extremely lucky, and fortunate, to be able to find a car that I could afford, and I knew I could invest future income and time and luv ( I only use love when talking about a human, heh) into again, the Toyota MR2. Drove 3 hours to check it out. Had it since Thanksgiving. 80k miles. First step after purchase, draining wheel funds to get Timing Belt and fix the clutch (it was staying stuck pressed down). Damn that mid engine configuration. I plan on keeping it very simplistic and well done. I will be patient and only use the best products on it in the future i.e Aeroware/Greddy/Volk. The engine will not be touched, I value oem quality and peace of mind, after having done ALL bolt ons possible and had a turbocharged experience with my previous Civic Si. It is very enjoyable as is anyway and nimble, agile even. I am taking my time getting used to this car, as I am aware of the 1991 suspension and handling difficulty level if taken advantage of in the wrong way. I stay away from sporty turns and stick to enjoy straight acceleration for now. For now, it will sit as is awhile until I graduate out of college in approx 1+ year. Those with sharp eyes may notice minor aftermarket touches, but nothing outstanding obviously. Thank you for reading this little story and would like to thank any of you in advance for the information provided throughout the time I begin to customize the MR2 overtime. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Your 2 is absolutely gorgeous! Is the paint original? Keep it the way it is and it will definitely hold its value. The Civic was very clean. Sorry that it had to have happened - but the 2 will not let you down
