Yep...you guessed it.....NEWBIE!!

Hello. I figured I'd do my first MR2.com civic duty and report in. My name is Trevor, and I am a new MR2 owner. I recently acquired my 85 NA Mk1 after seeing it in a tow yard impound lot. I talked with the owner, and after 8 months of waiting until the paperwork cleared out of California, the 2 is sitting in my driveway!! Yeaaaah! She's in need of some work, but I just know it will be worth it.

I'm 35, a father of 4 , and a devoted husband. My wife teases me that I must be going through some sort of mid-life crisis or something, seeing as how I've now acquired a car that is about as an impractical a vehicle as a father of 4 can get.! I have to agree....sorta. I've always loved the body style of the mk1's, and have wanted one since I was a kid. I got this car so that my wife and I will have a fun vehicle that we can go out on the weekends in and just have fun! I've heard great things about the handling of these cars, but I've never even ridden in one. My car will take a weekend's worth of work to get back on the road, but I know it will be worth it.

I can't wait to share my ups (and downs) with the forum as I stumble along learning about these cars. The one thing that I appreciate about them, is that they are small and relatively easy to work on. No 2008 crap to contend with...just good old 1985 technology! Anyway, I'll get out of here before I keep rambling, but I'm happy to be on board! Cheers!!

Trevor

PS. Anyone else here from Idaho? I'd love to hear from a fellow MR2 fan out here!!

Welcome to the board Trevor. I feel ya on impractical car thing, I'm 33 and a father of 2 and sometimes think to myself...why? But these cars are way too much fun, and I've wanted one (MKII) since they came out but never got a chance until now.

Anyway, welcome.

Welcome . We demand pics!

Not sure where in Idaho you're located at, but we have a decent sized group of Utah MR2 owners that have little meetups and such. U-MOC is the site, it's justa forum where we BS, setup meets, get help from eachother, etc. Check it out .

Well, I'm in the Twin Falls area. My wife and I occasionally get down to Salt Lake, so who knows...maybe we can come down for a meet or something. I can't wait to get this car out on the highway and see what she can do. I've heard nothing but good things about these little cars! Let me know if you guys have any upcoming events, and we'll see what happens! Cheers!

Trevor
