Z33 owner with a new MK1 daily
hello everyone,
just picked up a 87 MK1 with only 98k miles for $1500. the car is in perfect working condition with just wear and tear you would expect from a 21 year old car. i recently bent a rod in my 04 supercharged 350z so i needed a car while my motor is getting built with a couple snails to accompany them. i was grinning ear to ear driving her home tonight. i was amazed how well she handled. it took me awhile to figure out how to fill the gas tank up, lol. she needs a nice cleaning, polish, and a waxing. i still have some 17" stock Z wheels i think that might fit on the MK1, gonna try that tomorrow. its so weird being giddy about a 21 year old car but man i just cant help. ![]() |

heya welcome to the board if your z wheels are 4x100 they should fit but most mk1 owners tend to stick under 16" so they don't add up anymore rotating mass

![]() thats my Z, unfortunately/fortunately, she is at forged performance in georgia for a twin turbo, built motor install. i previously ran the stock block with a vortech supercharger producing 380whp, 333tq. i blew the motor a couple weekends ago at the texas motorplex running the quarter mile. she blew right when i went into 3rd. the revs climbed but my car wasnt accelerating. threw her into 4th just for the hell of it and the same thing happened. i coasted to a 13.5 at 93mph, lol, should have been a mid 12 second run on street tires. oh well, stuff happens, but she will be back stronger then ever with a safe 500whp. ![]() |

very nice....
![]() an other lucky bastard who get to enjoy healthy aw11.... 95k very nice.. i also m lucky bastard who gets to enjoy healty low mile aw11 mine's still under 76k... ![]() but you beat me on the price... i paid 1900usd total... i had 17x7 w/yokoham low profile on my aw11 and took them out when i first spun on loca(and i wasnt even trying to ..) 17 might be too big... get like 15s that weights 12lb w/ falken gum tires.. i know your z might have 500hp(after TT implant) BUT IN GRIP run (which is mr2s speciality) you rarely get to use them all... anyhow.. nice z man... ![]() we would ve hated each other if we encounter each other on street... bc i had one of those civic that can acutally keep up w/ some high perf. car.. (and alot louder ) just like your z ![]() but my was stolen and found all stripped to the tires.. ![]() however everything happens for the reason and we met in MR2 forum ![]() welcome my friend... ps keep that in mind that there is much possibility for you to actually fall in love w/ aw11 more than your Z... very possible... ![]() Last edited by pissonlotus; 03-04-2008 at 03:11 AM. |
