new to the forum - interested in mr2 project

Hey, im 19, in college (penn state), and im looking for a car for the summers when im home on break. I have a pos that i use now just as a commuter, but i want something nicer (my old car was a 98 prelude, i want something similar, but different). Im looking for an MKII mr2 turbo: One that needs work (to give me something to do over the summers and make it cheaper). As far as money goes, i have around 2k in cash, and i can sell my current pos for about a grand (but then i would need an mr2 that runs and drives reliably) If I really have to, i can part with my dirtbike for another thousand or so. I plan to work over the summer, so ill have a part-time job income. any suggestions on starting the project? thanks -dan

First of all welcome, and as for the MR2 issue I say find a running NA in good shape as it will be cheaper and later on swap out the 5s if you still want a turbo.
