New to the Forums

Hello all,

As the thread title already states, I am new here on the forums. I am 16 years old from Canada and am starting my apprenticeship to become an Automotive Service Tech in a couple of months.

I currently do not own an MR2 but am looking at getting one in the next couple of years. I read that thread about getting an MR2 as a first car not being a good idea for various reasons and understand all that, but for the first bit, if I get to know the car and take some advanced driving courses I think I should be alright. (I know it isn't as easy as it sounds)

I am here on the forums to learn about the car and see if it is truly what I want when it comes time to buy.

Paul

Welcome! Are you looking into getting an MKI or MKII. This is probably one of the best forums I've ever been on. You will definitely learn a lot. Check this buyer's guide out: Modified MR2 buyer's checklist. Anyways, good luck with your endeavors.

I am looking at getting a MKII. I was first introduced to it when I was around 13 by an older friend of mine who had a 1991 White Turbo MKII.

I will definitely check out that link.

Thankyou

Edit: I checked out that link and I'm not planning on buying a modified MR2. That is part of the fun for me, as an apprentice I will have most of the tools and the shop space to do it (the perks of the occupation). Not only will I be getting my MR2 finished, I will be learning while doing it.
