Welcome. Mine gets about mid 20's and it takes premium fuel, so it's not exactly what I would call an economical car to drive.

I just got back from the gas station. I went 240 city-miles on 7.793 U.S. gallons of gasoline, which equals 30.79 miles per gallon. I haven't tested freeway mileage yet. The point is, MR2s can be economic, especially the NAs.

mine gets about 25 around town with the new t3/t4 kit and the rebuild. Havent tested jusy highway yet. But before I did everything when the valve cover was leaking oil on the plugs and the trubo was shop it got me 31 mpg on the way home from NC to the ATL after I bought it. Just depends on how heavy ur foot is hehe

Dear Ms Candy
Your choice of an automatic equipped Mr2 could be a interesting choice if you decide to buy the Supercharged version.. I'm told the automatic has slightly better performance with some type of a revised sc-12 supercharger unit? (Maybe some members could discuss?) When you test drive you new Mr2 be sure to use a winding/twisty road and you'll see the advantage of this short wheelbase mid-engine setup. Additionally the 89 S/C has a rear sway-bar from the factory and the 88 does not. Your gonna like this ride. Happy Motoring.! PS My wife has driven our mr2 in competition for 19 years. Go get 'em girl!! |

the Mk3s get really nice mileage
you NA Mk2 guys should be in the high-high 20s, if I can stay under 70mph I get 30mpg highway... on 87 that ends up being pretty economical esp when you add in the "fun factor" over some POS Civic that might do a little bit better... |
