sup everyone

sup guys,
im new to the forums. I use to drive a 2000 celica GTS. now, im kinda feeling the MR2. I have never dealt with turbos before nor swaps. Im looking to get a 91 NA duce and im thinking about doing a swap. what do i need to do a swap? I've seen there are engines on ebay that include the ECU and the transmission along wiht it. Is there anything else I would need? do all engines fit on the 91 body?
Thanks for reading guys.

the NA is fun in its own right, especially if you like to turn the steering wheel

What a great way of putting it. Yeah, NA is alright.

Hi slickz, welcome. There's plenty of info here on swaps, just look around. Search is your friend.

Welcome, slickz

If what you want is a turbo you really are better off just buying a turbo right away. The economics and time investment involved in having a swap, especially if you can't do it yourself, really don't work out well. The major components you need for a turbo swap, that I can remember off the top of my head, are: engine, engine harness, transmission, axles, hubs and ECU. If you want to do it right then you also need to get turbo brake calipers and turbo exhaust.

Yes, all engines that fit in the Mk II fit in the '91 just fine.

1fastmr2, Ken has more seat time and more track experience than everyone but maybe one or two people on this forum. I'm quite certain he knows what a powerful car feels like and how to drive it

Garloch....Ask Ken why he would not ride in our Tundra at Rockingham...LOL.

I have been racing SCCA,NASACR since 85. I dont have the time to be at all the events. I would say the NASA events are good but there TECH inspections are very poor. We were at Road Atlanta in March with a new car they only looked at the seat belts and passed the car for the year.

sup gairloch, thanks for the welcoming. everyone seems very friendly on this forum. anytway, my question is that if i start off with buying a turbo car , can i really trust its reliabilitY? i mean, i saw a listing for a 91 stock turbo car. supposeldy the top end is rebuilt as well as the turbo. but wouldnt i have to replace everything sooner or later anyway? so i might as well find an NA car with a perfect body and just do a swap no? i have a total of 10g's to spend ..so im trying to find the best route to go...any recommendations? thanks again everyone!
