My 2 year search is over!!
Hey,
Name's Jeff (infinateeff) and I finally have my deuce! I've been looking for a MKII ever since I saw one for sale on a Japanese import companies listings. I've been lurking on here for about a year and a half now and have found this place very helpful in learning a lot more than just about MR2s, I feel like I've gotten a pretty good education on how cars work in general. When I was on leave it helped quite a bit as I was able to help fix both of my brother's vehicles while back home. I bought my 2 from GotstabeDSM who had it listed on MRtrader. I paid $4300 and traded a 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo parts car I had lying around. He was very helpful and patient, as I'm currently deployed in Iraq and had to work all the financial dealing and pickup through my Grandparents who are storing the deuce for me. But In return I now have a dark green stock 1991 MR2 Turbo w/ T-tops, and pretty much every option you could get on a 91' Turbo. Oh, has 168,000 miles as well. ![]() ![]() As for my plans for the 2, well for now It's sitting at a Toyota dealership getting looked over to find out what's wrong with the turbo, and see if anything else needs to be repaired. I want to get it running good, and after that some new wheels, fixing the few rust spots here and there and a fresh new coat of paint I'm thinking a smoky silver color, or black, but leaning more to the dark silver. All in all I'm mostly going to keep it stock, aside from mods like the TRD short shifter, CAI's, MBC's 94+ tails, Gauges and maybe go wingless. Eventually I'll probably do a 3rd Gen 3sgte swap, but that will probably happen after this engine gives out or next deployment, whichever comes first (most likely the deployment). I have 8 more months till I get back, so there's plenty of time to get it all set for my return. I can't wait! -Jeff (Infinateeff) |
