Newbie with problems
Hello fellow 2 scooters...i recently got a 1991 turbo..it's nice, t-tops, leather, loaded. She ran last October, but then the driver side drive shaft popped out..and she sat up on blocks..i noticed that the tranny case had a hole in it..sad but true. So, who here knows what trannys are compatible with a 91 MR2 turbo...standard. Celicas? Supras? if so what models? A little help please..

mr2 trannies pretty much any year, but expect to pay good money on a 1993+ lsd tranny. I believe you will have problems with most other trannies beause you have a mid-engine rear drive, while the supra is front engine rear drive, and the celica is front engine front drive. I am sure if I am wrong someone will clarify for you.

that will be easier said than done.
what you need to do is cruise the for sale section and mr2trader.com for a "e153" which is the name of the mr2 turbo transmission. preferably a 91-92 year as those have the mechanical speedometer sensor. |

He can swap over the speed sensor easy enough if he finds a newer tranny.
