Talking Another MR2 junkie checking in...

Hi all,

Guess I should say, I've been reading for awhile and already had a lot of questions answered: thanks! This community has a great knowledge base online...where would we be without our fellow MR2ers and the internet?

I live outside of Dallas and got my 89SC out of storage in May. Three years with no MR2! She was a daily for 4 years before hibernation.

This car never stranded me or made so much as a clunk in 20XXX miles (from the drivetrain anyway...the windows are another story)...now I owe her the same loyalty! Trying to clean up and fix little things as I go...so far she's got revived gauge lights, new shift boot, new pedal covers and a thorough cleaning (still in progress).

There is still lots to do, and I'm stuck on the speedometer repair...gauge and cable are good but the adapter (elbow thingy) is toast. And new replacement adapters don't seem to fit, not sure what to do on that.

Well, it's a journey and curves are the point, right? So hopefully this will get figured out. (And if anyone has a used working speedo adapter for an E51 laying around....)

My computer died in the move so I've only got a few pics and they're in my garage, which still looks like a helicopter crash site. But for now: http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...dos/laidup.jpg

She is all-original: stock intake, exhaust, paint and floormats. Yeah those floormats are *really* darn sad...

Mine is stock minus the rims (I still have the stocks for winter use) and the intake. The paint will also eventually be in the non-stock category.

From a distance your 2 look like it's in good shape., I could be wrong. Post up more pics as you go along, we're pic whores.

Thanks for the welcome! I found a couple more pics on my camera but not too exciting...just another 2. Hopefully these can be "before" pics once she's remotely close to clean...

The motor is too dirty for pics, might hurt the camera!

Timon, what color you thinking for the new paint? Silver looks good IMO. Some days I dig mine for its sheer 80's-ness and other days mehhh...

Welcome!

Whoa there's big-ol' pics of my car on the internet! lol thanks gairloch

The slicks...yesss..."slicks" sounds so much better than "tires I am too poor to replace." I avoid water. Like kryptonite.

So many nice cars at that meet...the mk1 with the MRS wheels is very well done, wish I could remember who owned it!

Thanks for the welcome y'all

I love the two-tone mk1's... one day I'll turn me up a cheap one in two-tone Until then I'll just keep playing with the other 3 mk1's, lol. Nice ride, don't see too many grey/silver mk1's, but we did have a REALLY nice clean one local at one of our meets last year. Don't know who's it was, but it was SWEET!!
