noob..mr2 questions

hey guys im new to this site and i just recently heard about the mr2. I know nothing really about this car well motor wise anyway. anyway i am looking to buy a car and i don't really like any other car other then the mr2. i live in the middle of no were (whitehorse yukon canada) if i got this car i think i would be the only one with one but i could be wrong. Anyway i need to know some things like if i was to buy one and bring one all the way up here where could i find parts if i needed them i don't mind ordering. also how reliable is this car 10 being the best and 1 the worst thanks. i wont be driving it in -40 or anything only the summers. also would any old mechanic know what he would be doing with this car (im not that good in fixing cars just getting into it.) i know i have more questions but i cant think about them but if you could answer those that would be great. thanks

Welcome to the board :O) I hope you enjoy your stay.

As to your questions:

1) I'm sure the board sponsors will be your best best for aftermarket and OEM parts - Click the link top right and you can browse a bit.

2) Reliability is difficult with a car this old so I'd say somewhere between 1 and 10 is about right

3) The basics can be done by any mechanic but I wouldn't bet on anything. My advice would be to ask here before doing anything! Broswe, search and learn all you can about your two on the board. You will find it's an invaluable source of knowledge - including things like porno films (Raptor ) and various mad ramblings (everyone else apart from me and Ben )

Another good source for parts are the "parts for sale" forums on this board and the mr2oc board. Usually the MKI (early square shaped car) parts are easy to find. If you can't find the parts there you can try to have someone on the board find it for you at a salvage yard. Then buy new . Just my .02. Good luck finding the car and welcome.
