What i need to know before buying a MR2. newbie!
hello,
i am new to this forums, and i just wanted to get some information before purchasing a mkII mr2 n/a. I am currently 20 years old, and only been driving for about 8months. During these 8 months ive mostly drove my brothers 1998 Celica GT. After reading some of these threads i found out a few similaritys between a 1991 mr2 n/a, and a 1996 Celica GT. My Brother bought his car for about $3000 with 150k highway mileages, and for 3 years now since he owned that car, He had only put about $800 tops to maintain his car, Only problem he had with his car was the alternator, Starter, and Breaks. I want to know if it would be expensive to maintain a 1991 MR2 n/a with about 120 - 140k mileage, and also would it be a reliable for daily driving from school and work everyday. Appromixity how much would it cost me a year? Ive only have about $5000 to get me the car and the rest to maintain it. Ive have already read the thread: MR2 for a First car, even tho im still a new driver. I really want this car if i can maintain it with the money that i currently have. Thank you for your time. |

dude maintaining a mr2 na is just a regular car... (just regular maintainance) just make sure that the body is on good shape... 5g is enough for a mr2 na...
not like a mr2 turbo... |

maintainance is pretty easy, oil, brakes etc. its pretty straight forward no big issues plaging the mr2 very reliable cars imo.
