What's up everyone!

Hey,

Just set up my account today. I'm also a member of the 4runner website. I love Toyota's. Anyways...I used to own a 92 n/a mr2. I would like to get my hands on a 91 or later model mr2 turbo. The work I am going to do is pretty extensive and will be spending lots of money and time replacing and parts and modifying the mr2 just the way I want it. I was curious what everyone thought my best route to go is. Should I get a mr2 turbo or an n/a. I will be replacing the engine and everything but was wondering the best way to go about it. I don't want to spend too much on the actual car since I will be doing body work and everything else to it. I do eventually want to put a turbo in if i do go with a n/a but I will also be putting a different engine in too. I've been checking other websites out and junkyards just to see if I can get my hands on one. Let me know what you guys think.

Adam

I'll post some pics of my other mr2 that I did some work to back in the late 90's when I get some time.

Welcome to the board Adam! Well what you want to buy really depends on what you want... Get the Turbo if you want more power, get the NA if you want something that's a bit more reliable and affordable... You could buy the NA and do the v6 swap... there's really a ton of options.

Cant wait to see pictures of your old mr2!

Yeah get a cheap N/A one or even a rolling chassis and do the V6 swap. I'd do it if I was mechanically inclined since there's alot of info ont he swap here. But the builders for them are too far for me

definatly, if your eventually going to swap the engine, then there is no reason to spend more on a turbo model just to swap the engine out. Get an NA and go from there.

cant wait to start seeing what your doing when you get your car. check www.mr2trader.com. I actually recall seeing an NA with some body damage on there for $1300 bucks. might be something to start with since your going to be doing body work (kit) anyway.

4runner

i'm rhodee90 on the 4runner website as well. I joined that website back in july of 05 so i'm pretty new there too. My buddy I haven't talked to in forever just told me he purchased a 91 mr2 so congrats to him. I told him to check out this site for help with all the mods. He's got his own business called streetdynamics. you can visit the website on www.streetdynamics.com. I used to have some pictures of my mr2 on that website but he has since made some changes. He'll be doing a lot with his mr2 as he is pretty wealthy. His parents just bought a small airport in Virginia and he runs the airport now for his parents and also they use the runways as drag strips. It's the New London Airport in Bedford County, VA. I'll talk to everyone soon.
