New member, owner of a 91 MK2

Well just recently joined this forum, say hello to all the mr2 fans out there
Im from the Houston, TX area.
I own a 91 MR2 3sgte got her about 5 months ago got her for 2k with 180k miles

Before

After

Sorry for the crappy camera picture, i will be getting some better quality pictures as soon as i finish detailing the paint and etc as i just recently got her painted about a month ago.
Right after i painted the car, i found out i had a blown headgasket, i said well okay rebuild time, motor had almost 200k miles and turbo leakin, timing belt leakin its about time. Well i also found out i had a cracked head .
I got a good deal on a JDM 93 3sgte motor coming from a celica st185 with 50k miles and chose to go that route as it seemed pricey trying to find a decent head n rebuilding my motor, i was told the celica motor its the same as mine with the exception of the accesories such as alternator few pulleys, wiring, tranny which is no problem since i swapped all those parts from my USDM motor to it. Im currently almost done with the swap i also replaced new timing belt, new water pump, new fuel pump, all new intercooler hoses, rebuild ct26, new a/c compressor, new clutch and bearings, apexi power intake also alot of other little things such as hose from hell and earth and whatnot im hopin to have a healthy motor once im done for years to come, should be done in another week or so.

My next mods will be upgrade my suspension , i was looking into getting a set of koni yellows, and a set of TRD lowering springs

Well finished with my swap started her up few days ago motor sounds even and idles correctly plus no more black smoke but my RPM gauge still not working it seems like it wants to pick up when i rev the car but it barelyyy does im havin a mechanic come look at it tomorrow as i have no idea what it is!!! i briefly searched on here and mr2oc to see if anyone had the same problem before as it seems theres patterns and common issues on this car but counlnt find any info ill keep searching more throughly. Also theres like some type of line i cant remember whats called right now that used to connect to the side of the valve cover on my USDM 3SGTE motor but on my ST185 3SGTE its missing and its supposedly causing my engine checklight to turn on. i dont know what to do maybe make the holes? . currently the lines connected just on exception to the side of the valve cover which when the motor revs it vibrates n makes a noise but i put some type of plastic at the bottom of it meanwhile so it wont make the noise.
Has anyone done this swap before?? i searched and found a member that did his sn is Luni i sent him a PM but never got a response maybe someone else can enlighten me on which is the better approach?

By the way i just figured whats the name of the line above is a picture is called "EGR PIPE"

Finished detailing the paint yesterday and placing the rear spoiler back on as i removed it for a better finish, hopefully ill be taking some pictures of the car next weekend as we will be having an MR2 meet in the Houston area
