Say hello to my little friend...

Hi all, Newly registered and very new to the board...

I bought a 85 MR2 about 18 months ago, right after I got the car I bought a cheepo F1 style body kit. - only about $400 delivered to the local greyhound station.

Well I have been busy and finally started the install this last week.
Here are some pics of the 1st complete test fitting.
New Page 1

It fits very badly and is taking a lot of work to make it fit properly. I am actually mounting it for more of a wide body look in the side skirts, it looks much cooler that way but i will need to glass in some large areas. I am totally a novice with glass/body work so I'm learning as I go.

I am thinking I will fiber-glass this into the body for no seams and am interested in others experiences with this method... Should I modify (cut) the fenders to make mounting easier or not cut so it can be reversed in the future? Should I not glass it in? what's your experience?

I don't know if you can all tell but the car seems to sit about 2 inches lower than other ones I have seen.

Welcome to the board.

Looks like your car is coming out nicely. As for bodywork, I have little to no experience with kits, but I can suggest (if possible) making it reversible just in case you don't like it later on.

Thanks! The more I do to it the better it looks. The bad part is that it has been crunched before and the front end sub structure is quite wrinkly and actually flexes the front bumper a bit.
