HI,
I'VE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAV A 91 MR2 FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW. IT'S BEEN DUAL PURPOSE STREET/TRACK CAR, AND HAD ITS SHARE OF UPS AND DOWNS................BLOWN TURBO, OVERHEATING, OVERSTEER, BLOWN ENGINE (N/A BLEW ON TURN 9 AT WILLOW SPRINGS, AND CAUGHT THE CAR ON FIRE), CHANGE TO U.S. SPEC TURBO (OH.....WHAT A FEELIN'), AND MUCH MORE. IT'S BEEN TO WILLOW SPRINGS, FONTANA, LAGUNA SECA, STREETS OF WILLOW, A FEW AUTO-X'S, SPRING MOUNTAIN MOTORSPORTS PARK AND OTHER PLACES. MOSTLY SOLO I TIME TRIALS. IT'S TIME TO GET IT DIALED IN A BIT MORE NOW. IT'S BEEN LOWERED ABOUT 2", 2 SETS OF WHEELS AND RUBBER (16'S IN THE FRONT, 17'S IN THE REAR FOR STREET, AND 17'S ALL THE WAY AROUND WITH THE NEW NITTO NT-01'S) FULL CAGE WITH DUAL HARNESSES, FRONT STRUT BAR BRACE, STRIAIGHT PIPE.........BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT. I'VE BEEN BLOWING COOLANT OUT THE BACK THRU THE TURBO ON THE TRACK (WORKS FINE ON THE STREET), SO IT'S TIME FOR SOME REPAIR, AND I MIGHT AS WELL DO SOME UPGRADES WHILE I'M AT IT. I'M LOOKING FOR IDEAS ON THE BEST WAY TO GET THE MOST TORQUE (NOT HORSEPOWER) FROM THIS THING ON THE ROADRACE TRACK WHILE SPENDING $1500-$2000. I SUCK AS A DRIVER, SO I DON'T NEED THIS THING TO BE A NARROW POWER BANDED SCREAMER.................SMOOTH LOW END AND BETTER HANDLING WILL BE MY FOCUS. I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT A NOISY TURBO WHINE AND LOUD POP OFF VALVE MAKE MY HEART SKIP A BEAT THOUGH. PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS, EXPERIENCES, PRODUCT EVALUATIONS ARE APPRECIATED. LOOKS LIKE I'LL HAVE TO REDO OR REPLACE THE TURBO NOW, BUT IT SEEMS THAT'S NOT THE CRITICAL GO FAST PART TO BLOW MONEY ON. WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS DO WITH THAT BUDGET? THANKS FLATUSMAN LONG BEACH |

pahrump racetrack pix
here's a couple pix of my car warming up at spring mountain motorsports park in pahrump nevada (before belching coolant on the guy behind me). great 3.1 mile track, seemed simple..............until you tried to get on it !!! that is if i figured out how to attach these correctly?
