we need to plan a meet for the summer, inlude the indiana, michigan and ohio guys...i live in akron, and even though i never realized meets were happening ive heard of a LOT of people in ohio that have gone, we could have a HUGE meet! since we dont live close enough for all the CALI and Georgia meets!

I'll go to a Indiana or Michigan meet
(i live in chicago and ALL I ever hear about in these forums are meets in SoCal...which is WAAAAYYYYYY too far)

I think you'll be able to find a good MK1 for around $2,000 around Michigan

ya, i'm totally down for a meet! if anyone gets one together, or hears about it, please count me in!

as for the MK1, there was one last summer for sale. it was blue, pretty much mint condition, i think it was going for 3 grand or so...never saw it after though. should be pretty easy to find a decent one around.

Thanks to all for the welcome.
I'm wondering if you guys have had any experience with craigslist. I'm a bit wary of buying anything off of it, but I'm willing to hear what everyone thinks first.

i found my car on Xceedspeed.com. as long as you go check out the car(all over) i don't see why not. obviously there are things you can't really see(like how my "small oil pan leak" was really a few bigger leaks that were "fixed" but i mean it's a gamble either way, just look at the car and get as much back ground history on it as you can and you should be right. it also helps if you plan on keeping it for a long..long time so fixing anything wrong is more justified.

I think I know where you're talking about.. I'm near 12 mile and lahser.

Sounds like good advice.. I've been keeping my eyes peeled on Xceed as well, but haven't seen anything yet.

Unfortunately, I only have a 4 cylinder in the camry, so the engine swap would be rather worthless .
I'm considering trying to find a decent turbo kit for the MR2 when I get my hands on it. Any suggestions?
