Newby to Boards (but not MR2s!)

Hi everyone,

I used to own a bone stock 1985 MR2 that I bought in 1994 from the original owner. I loved and babied that car until 2000 when I decided I HAD to have a convertible so I sold it to buy a Mustang convertible

What was I thinking? Not the worst mistake I ever made but close! Several vehicles later. . . I still miss my Mister Two and am now thinking I HAVE to buy another. So I joined the board and saw the MK2 with 55K miles in the 4sale section and have been trying to set up an appointment to look at it. But it's Super Bowl weekend . . . . .Anyway, I look forward to talking with folks and if anyone knows of a stock MR2 for sale, hit me up. Mark

Welcome.....

Stock and in good condition is very hard to find now.....Most of these cars have been modified,butchered,lowered, to death by now.. It has ben 15 years now since the first Mk2 was made....
I'm just glad I was able to find one in stock/mint condtion that was never lowered...

Yeah, That's kinda why I decided now might be the time to find one. MR2s are getting rarer and stock is getting crazy. That's why I'm interested in the one in the FS message board.

I just joined MR2OC.com and the same MR2 that's for sale here is also listed on their FS board and man oh man have their been problems! Seems like the guy is not entirely on the up and up. So, guess I'll keep looking.

It's the 93 turbo with 55k original miles by Viperpilot99. I saw the car and met the guy. He seemed okay. He just hasn't registered the car in his name since he bought it. It's registered in Texas in the previous owners name. Probably not a problem in California and the guy said he'd go to the DMV to make sure the transfer was problem free. But someone tried to buy the car long distance and it became a big problem and many things were tossed around between viperpilot and the buyer. I see both sides of the story.

My issue is that the car looks to have been repainted. I'm not completely sure. But the guy doesn't really have much of the cars history. If I'm paying that much for a 13 year old car. .. I wanna know a little more about it.
