i own a SW20 5S. right now i am in the process of purchasing a newer car (prob a Corolla) so i can park the Deuce and proceed to tear her down.
i am planning on making her a track car. prob set up for road racing. i want to strip everything off of her, throw her on a rotisserie, and start all over from the frame/body up! ![]() i am a UTI grad and currently earning my AS in Welding at COC (i live in the SCV), so i am planning on taking this project on myself. i want to fab my own custom intake and exhaust system (yes including the header!), i want to learn how to work with composites and make my own carbon fiber parts. i am planning on stroking out a 3S and turboing this baby. i like what Smokey did w/ his 3S Supra and will prob mimick what he did a bit. anyways, as you can plainly see i am not f*cking around. i am really serious here.... and i am very excited to become apart of the MR2 community, and am seeking advice and guidance from just about anyone willing to give it. Thanks all for reading! |

how did you like UTi? alot of people I know loved it, and some said it was a waste to get a paper for stuff they already know, but the experience was fantastic.

oh yeah UTI is a scam they went corporate w/in the last 10 years and according to the old skool teachers i spoke w/ everything changed after that. all they care about is creating "techs" to shuffle into the industry and most of the education we rec'd was via powerpoint presentations. Lame!
But i did learn a lot of technical things there, like how to degree a cam, etc that i may not have learned elsewhere, or at least until way later. As a female it was an excellent learning experience, it toughened me up bigtime and prepared me for the industry as it really is. The other good thing was i ended up as a Tire Specialist for a pit crew that raced Super Lates at Irwindale thru that school, so that was a BIG plus!!!! too bad the team got dissolved, but that's how i found welding and metal fab, so it all worked out for a reason i guess..... |
