Hi everyone!

I'm not completely new here, but I have only posted a few times over the past year, as I had the intention of being an MR2 guy, but didn't have the time/money.
You see, I have had a 1986 MR2/ 5spd since around 1996, but have never really driven it but a couple of times. Here's the story:

Back in 1996, my roomate and a co-worker of his decided to head to Cabo for 6 months, to sell timeshares. Hi buddy asked me to watch his MR2 while he was away. He gave me about $500 for maintenence, etc. and I said no problem.
Well 6 months came and went, and my roomate came home but his buddy didn't. Months went by, years went by. The car was on an expired tag(naturally), and the MR2 even got towed once, but I got it back. I moved from apt. complex and town to another, and I would only start the MR2 on rare occasion, to get the oil flowing. About 2 years went by, and I decided to drive the MR2 down to the nightclub in midtown Atlanta, where I worked, as my Supra had been acting up. Well, apparently, I didn't run the engine enough over that period of time, and on the drive down, I developed some horrendous rod knock. So bad in fact, that I didn't think it could make the drive home. I asked the boss if I could leave it there for a 'short' while, and he said no problem...
4 years LATER, the poor MR2, was still sitting in the mud, behind a nightclub in midtown Atlanta. It had only budged twice to be moved out of the way for a couple of special events that required more parking lot space. Funny thing was- all I had to do was throw a pair of jumper cables on, and that little bitch would start instantly, albeit with it's chronic rod knock. At the end of 2006, the club owners finally asked me to move the MR2 out of the lot, because they were selling the club. I said no problem, and I called AAA to tow it back home. I Cleaned off the car and put it into storage near my work place.
Fast forward to late 2008, and the car hasn't been touched in almost two years. I had just changed jobs to a place 50 miles away, and decided to buy a house. 3 months ago, I finally had it towed over to my new house, where it has a garage to rest comfortably in. I've now had this car for a decade, and as far as I know, the original owner is STILL partying in Cabo!!! He sent me the title years ago, because he wanted me to sell it, but I told him it had rod knock and it wouldn't get very much. Never heard from him again. Well, the fact is, my daily driver is a 1988 Supra turbo, and In order to do the next set of upgrades to it, I'm going to need a new daily driver so that I can spend time on the Supra. So I decided I'm going to do a 7age swap/conversion on this car.
So yesterday, it was nice and warm out, and I had nothing to do, so I started to just remove some of the exterior parts of the motor, like the battery, AFM, coolant bottle, throttle bracket, etc., and ended up getting a little further along than I had expected. I removed both axles, disconnected the speedo cable, wiring harness, vacuum lines, and undercover. Today, I decided to see what else was left, and ended up removing the alternator, disconnecting the heater core hoses, coolant hoses, draining the oil and coolant, disconnected the AC lines, fuel lines, oil cooler hoses, etc.
I did this all between 1pm and 5pm., and realized that there was nothing left connecting the engine to the car except the motor mounts, so I said what the heck, let's pull it. Anyway, here's some pics of the car and carnage...

Jackin' that ass up...

Finally out!

Well, I'll be posting some progress reports from time to time. Next up is disassembly and cleaning of the stuff to be reused, then I have to find a 7AFE, and get some new stuff for the build.

Well, like I said, I'm going to put in a 7age for a bit more torque.
Being as it'll be my daily driver, I don't need it to do anything incredible, at least not yet. I would like to get some 15 or 16 in. wheels, and lower it slightly.
As for the interior, it's in pretty good shape, I just need to replace the stereo with something a bit newer, and some better speakers.
