hope to be MR2 MK I owner
I'm looking at a 86 MR2 5 speed in St louis and hope that with all of your guys help, will make me a proud owner of a newly old MR2.
But yah, i'm from Cedar Rapids Iowa (you dont see any mr2's around...) and i fix HVAC systems for a living. well... on to more interesting things I am addicted to driving/racing. I AutoX as much as i possible can, and cant wait till i get my new tires to go to some track days. I even bought a X-box 360 steering wheel so i could "race" in the winter. My 1991 Ford Festiva is getting fixed, and its one of the funnest Who-Cares cars i have ever owned. its a go-kart... but then again i'm talking to MR2 owners, so i think you understand. My other car is a 2006 Lancer Evolution IX SE. Its my "race car" even though its bone stock. its a real quick fun car. During Auto-X events i happen to get it sideways more then most RWD's... maybe because i drive it to the limits... MR2's. i've always liked them, and after driving such a light fun little car (my Festiva) i decided i needed to bump it up a notch and look for a MR2. I was wanting to drive her in some auto-x events and as a dailyish driver. So ya, I'm EvoNiner. Hope to be on this forum more soon. |

You are very welcome here.
Sounds like you enjoy driving your cars, is the mkI your looking at N/A or supercharged? You would be the sort of person that would enjoy a mk1.5 from the sounds of it. I like the evo as well, much more than subarus that blow gearboxes if you drive off the factory floor too fast. If you are going to use it as a daily driver make sure it is up to spec 20+ year old cars don't like lack of maintanance. You should enjoy it especially if it is a supercharged model, they are quick little cars. |

haha... as odd as this is going to sound... i enjoy rip-roaring around in my 91 festiva just as much as my Evo. No, its not the Super Charged version, but i dont think it'll matter that much for me. i know i'll love it.
