I'm back
I hung around here from about 2002-2004, learning about my 1991 NA with factory moon roof. I put 30k on it in 18 months. Loved it.
Gave to nephew as wedding gift, help him get his little family $feet on ground. Several cars later, I am looking at a much nicer 1991 this morning, sittting at local gas station. Owner is a very nice guy recently from Pakistan, he loves working on cars and pumping gas. He is just flipping this car as one of his first used car sales. Its got 93k on the clock, completely unmodified, no rusty nuts and bolts underneath, no damage. Worst things about it are the t-tops instead of moon roof, the faded red paint, plus it has staggered steel wheels with hubcaps that seller insists is OEM. Ashtray door has same cracks as the other car had. Seller is demanding its worth 4,500 and then allows as how he will come down to 4,000. I think 4,000 is a lot of money for an 18 year old japanese car but since its an MR2 thats not too much money. It will probably be more reliable than my 2002 A4. And for only $4,000 I get a car I like even better than a new TT that goes for about $40,000. Lets see if this purchase pans out. |
