Only owner of a 86 MR2
Hi,
I am new here. I have an 86 MR2. Cutest little car that ever lived!!! For her 25th birthday I want to get her back on the road. She drove into the garage on her own about 15 years agao - but was burning oil. Now it is time to get her going again. I know that I will need rear quater panals -- they are rusting. I put a new battery in and she turned over -- but there is certainly work to be done. I am looking for places in NE both find the parts and people I will need to get her running again. I would love any help that I can get. Jessie |

well as for the panel's, i am told you'll need to find a good parts car, cut out the rusted part and weld it from the parts car to your 86 >> GL!

I love how people anthropomorphize their cars.

an⋅thro⋅po⋅mor⋅phize verb to ascribe human form or attributes to (an animal, plant, material object, etc.). Personify would also work, but anthropomorphize has a more precise meaning and sounds cooler. |

Jess, good luck. Living in New England I feel your pain- Just bought my first mr2 (85) a few months back, but I got it from the west, so it's rust free. (Or at least was, two months in maine and it's already showing that it's got some maine on it...) As for the quarter panels, if you want to replace them you're going to need to ship them in from the west, Pretty sure you wont find them here. Repairing them, or even fabricating new ones out of fiber glass may be a better option.... Got any pics? ![]() |

Fabrication
Thanks for all of the information. Can I bother you with one more question? I guess I just did. Anyway - where would you go to get new ones fabricated?
