Hello everyone!!
I'm a 20 yr old female (yes, girls can like cars too) and I am the proud owner of a '91 Toyota MR2 - w00t w00t! I bought it off some old guy, so everything is stock, almost like mint condition. The only thing I noticed ~ t-tops drizzle a little when it rains - any suggestions on how to fix/replace them? I don't want my car smelling like mildew ya kno? Also the antenna is starting to fizz out - what's up with that?? Well, that's it for now, show some love for the girl that can handle a stick! ![]() |

Hey there, welcome to the board. Im a sunroof owner so I cant help you much with the leaky T-top problem. Post some pictures of your board and add them to your members garage if you get a chance.

AirBonita:
T-top leaks in the older MR2's are the rule rather than the exception. There's one easy but drastic solution: take some black RTV sealant and liberally apply it to the bottom and sides of the rubber weatherstripping and re-insert the T-top. This is drastic because you'd have to re-seal every time you took your Tops off. A better solution would be to buy new weatherstripping for the T-tops. Lastly, it could be that your leak is in the rear trim piece above your rear window. You'd have to remove it by taking apart the interior trim of the rear roof. Remove the trim piece and apply sealant around the mounting bolt holes for the piece. Good Luck |

Although some RTV sealant will work to stop your problem... I think your best bet is to buy some of the replacement t-top guides from your Toyota dealer. These have the pin holes for the t-tops off center and placed closer to the body. Your tops will sit tighter to the seals, and your lights will hopefully go away !. For the $10 or so that it costs for all the parts needed, I think its worth trying before you stick some ugly silicone all over your seals

Hey chicita!
That is very clean mr2. The first thing I'd do after replacing the t-top seals is get a new shift knob and maybe the wheels. Other than that your car is great. What exactly is wrong with your antennae? |
