Talking replacing drive shaft oil seal on my mk2 3SGE

hi folks im new to this forum, infact any forum you could say i have just lost my forum virginity.
i have purchased a 1991 mrk2 with a 3sge engine, its not perfect but they never are and thats why im here.
i have a oil leak on the right hand side drive shaft at the gear box end .
i have a new oil seal on order and was just wondering if anyone has any tips , i have downloaded the pdf toyota manual which seems ok but i was wondering if i need to detach the drive shaft from the axel carrier or can i some how swing its so as to remove the drive shaft from the transmission end whilst keeping the axel end as is?
sorry if i sound as if i dont know what im on about but i dont lol any help ,pics of removal e.c.t greatfully appericated.
