New, Looking to Buy

Hey guys, thought I'd say howdy. Name's Garrett just incase you missed that bit... Friday I'm going down to Boulder to look at a '87 MR2 and I'm pretty excited as from what I've heard these are pretty fun to drive and that's just what I'm looking for. The only drawback is that this is a sunroof model and being 6'8" tall means I'd probably fit just that little bit better in a hardtop.

I currently have an '06 Chevy Monte Carlo and it has lots of room for me, but it's probably not even close to being as fun as an MR2. Anyways that's my reason for being here and if anyone has any suggestions as to what I should look for other than checking if I fit then please feel free to inform me.

Garrett

you'll fit fine. i am 5'10" and i fit with the seat close to the middle of its range. there is plenty of room in there for you. as for what to check for, get the car on a lift if you can. also check for any rust. i heard people have issues with cracks in the dash so also look into that. if sun roofs are anything like t-tops it leaks so check the seats which will be moldy and see if he will come down on price.

i am sure some people will post more info and welcome!

the sunroof in my '85 wasn't leaking, and she's from the desert, where I'd imagine the seals to dry rot... perhaps it was replaced at some point.

The side windows leaked a bit, though. The door seals are too compressed from old age, and 90mph in the rain will find a little water coming in the sides.
