yep im new here as well. I geuss your wondering why? well since not long ago ive decided to make myself a little project car. I started some mecanics class a couple months ago and ive decided that next spring ima buy a 91-93 mr2 turbo and have a lot of fun with it. Im starting to look now at mr2s for sale to make sure i have one for spring. I was just wondering if anybody could give me a few pointers in which mr2s are worth buying and others not so much and why , and if any of you on this site would like to sell there own mr2s next spring!

Welcome. Mk1's are fun. They are also cheaper than the mk2's.

i would go with a mk2 just becuase they were way ahead or there time on looks. and a turbo mk2 is a monster probly the best stock turbo car out there. other then a 95 supra. but its up to u which one u like better. plus any mr2 is a lady looker. i have a white 91 mr2 with a boarder body kit and rx7 fd wheels with black leather and every girl that gets in my car falls in love.

Do you currently own a Del Sol? That's cool if you do, because I own a 97! The 2nd gen MR2s are the nicest, not to mention the best chick magnets out of all 3 generations! (That's why I plan on getting a MKI... I'm not into chicks!

Haha im new here too and i just recently bough an MK1. I know from experience what a 3sgte swapped mkII feels like and honestly i wasnt very impressed (due to driving an 87 turbo supra at the time with 253 whp and 296 ft lbs of torque) but speed isnt everything with these cars. Honestly i feel that if you are going to get into the mr2 world they are mainly amazing auto-x and track cars. They handle like an oversized go-kart and i honestly love it. My mkI is completely stock and it outhandles my old rx8 which says alot for it. So its mainly about what you are trying to do. If you want to be quick and look good while your doing it then spend the extra money and get the mkII. If you are just looking for a super fun car to drive and get a little power out of it go grab an mkI.

im new too...i had a 93 sol before my mkII...but working on a honda is like playing with legos...working on an mkII is a little more complicated...i could have the engine in and out in a few hours, where as the mkII took me 3 days after work...(4-6 hrs a day)...but the mkII is an amazing car, i love it
