New Canadian.
Hello Everyone,
I recently picked up a 1985 AW11 Mr2 for $800. I've dumped about another 800 bucks into it between oil, coolant, filter regular maintenance and 'new to me' common sense stuff as well as new struts (KYBGR2) and e-brake cables soldering the headlights back into working order (cracked inside switch) and have gotten it to a 'happy place' where it's running pretty smooth and I'm not afraid of my headlights kicking off at night! ![]() Now I'm trying to concentrate on some things about the car that bother me like the hesitation it's got at around 3000 rpm (which also results in a check engine light on the highway if left at the rpm to long), the wind noise coming in from my drivers and passenger windows, the lack of decent stereo, and wanting new rims and rubber. What I've been blown away by in this car is of course the handling, the looks I get, and the hilarious expressions people have when I pull my groceries out from under the Hood! Hoping to find a few more MR2's in the Southern Alberta area so far I've only seen 1 other mk1 around... |
