New MK-I
Just bought a 1985 MK-I MR2. Got it for $400 just needs a new fuel pump to be running. The body is kinda rough though.
Anyone who has had experience, bondoing / painting / do-it-yourself body work, if you could give my friends and me some tips on it or if anyone is in the Tampa Bay area and could help us out that would be very appreciated. BTW, my friends and I are planning to strip this thing and autocross it, so any tips on that would be great too! |

Good luck w/ your projekt.
Don't weigh her down w/ too much bondo. :-) There's probably lots of "how to" on the web. Grandpa. |

Depends what part of the country on the rust problems... none of my mk1's have rust issues at all. Southern cars seem to fair much better because there isn't salt used on the roads as often, or ever in some cases. Western cars in the dry climate areas are also usually pristine body-wise, but the paint and interior often takes a little more of a beating too from sun... same for Florida cars (I've got one of those too... poor faded thing!).
