New MR2 Owner/Member

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum. I've actually owned my MR2 for several years, I just have never had the money to fix the poor thing. I was just hoping you guys can help me out. I own a 91 NA MR2 it was a salvaged car. I'm looking to do a turbo engine swap and repair the exterior. I was hoping you guys could tell me any good sites for whole engine clips, body panels, body kits, etc..

I need to find:

passenger and driver side fenders
driver side light cover
3GSTE engine or the entire rear clip would be preffered
Turbo ECU
TOM's Body kit

Any help on recommended sites would greatly be appreciated..Thanks!!

first off......welcome to the site!

the fenders you will probably have to source through a local junk yard or someone parting a car out.

Toms body kit...... i would try www.body-tune.net Great prices, great customer service, hit or miss with the quality as they are a reseller, not a manufacturer of replica parts as most companies are.

I would pm 93smgturbo and ask him if he knows of anyone local in NM as he is a resident there too about the engine and the parts you need.....he is crafty with sourcing hard to find parts.

If you get a clip, the ECU will be included with the setup.

drivers side light cover......as with the fenders, check the parts for sale section here on the board.

Also check out www.mr2trader.com lots of parts there!

Again, welcome to the site. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want. Can we see some pictures of your car?

Thanks!! I'll pm 93smgturbo.. It's getting harder and harder to find stuff for this car. I love the car and I hope to fully restore it. I'll take some pictures of the car and post them soon. Poor car is in really bad shape, it happens when you let your younger brother have it as a daily driver. But I have taken ownership of it again and will restoring it soon. Once I put up the pictures it will make you cry because of the shape it's in. It won't stay in that shape for long though..

BTW: do you know a good site to get sunroofs? A few years back a bottle rocket smashed into the sunroof on my MR2 and completley busted it up. It sucks because I don't know where that damn rocket came from since it was the 4th of july when it happened.

Ask arthur1976 if he does, I know he has always at least 3 mr2s in hand, pretty sure he was parting one out in fact, Pm me if you wnat his aim, or pm him for details...

Well here are some pics. The car is dirty since it's at my parent's house and I hardly drive it. It looks better in pictures, but the reality is, that I have to replace the fenders because they have massive amounts of bondo. I bought this car about 5 years ago for 1,500. It is a salvaged car, but heck I figure I could fix it up.

Yeah, I guess I over exaggerated on the condition

It's not in bad bad condition, but it does need alot of work. I need to replace the sunroof, fenders, one of the headlight covers, the headlight housing is missing, the interior is pretty run down too. The engine is in pretty bad shape, the tranny is going to crap, no more A/C, the window motors are giving out, the heater control is all jammed up.

I figure I will start with the engine. Those sites are really good thanks. Than I will work on the exterior with the fenders and headlight covers. I then want to put on a body kit, I want the TOM's but after glancing through some of the members cars on here, I might do a mix and match. I will let you guys know on my progress, I'll probably be starting on it later this month though. Thanks for the welcome guys..
