From jeep to yota...

hey, my name's christian. im from the mississippi coast. im new in the mr2 world. i just bought an '86 mr2 from a guy where i go to college (Mississippi State University). For a few years, i've rock crawled my '91 cherokee, and needed a daily driver with good gas mileage.. i have the 1.6L 4 banger and was wondering what you could tell me about my car, like what i should do, what i call the chasis (mk1, aw11??) and the engine (NA... etc??). glad to hear from ya'll.

Welcome.
AW11 is correct, sir.
The engine is a 4A-GE.
115hp (not much but itll move 2300lbs pretty well). ~30mpg on a well kept engine.
One thing you should do (if you haven't already) is check the rear wheel wells for rust. It's a common and potentially big problem.
Mostly these engines are very reliable but a good refresher is always nice (fluids, gaskets, belts if needed, FI cleaner, check timing).

hey jeepinxj, i spent the last 3 years on columbus afb, and every sat. night in starkville they meet up at midnight in the wally world parking lot, if you find a guy named mike with a black integra with the h22 in it, he will make sure that you meet everyone there, he is also a toyota master tech so he may help you with working on the car, also in a white supra, his name is arther, will help you meet everyone
