Thanx, Great Forum, lots of knowledge

Hey Guys,
I am 28 and live in Florida. I love motorsports and cars. I enjoy scca, American Le Mans series, F1, and drag. I visit car shows, I race on xbox live frequently, you get the point. I have been looking for the best all around affordable sports car to race. I started looking towards a f body5.0 gt, then leaned to a 2 gen eclipse gst and finally opted to go with the mr2. Ultimately, I felt that all else equal geometry is to prevail. I've been researching the board 'n found a wealth of knowledge. This is great board, as to I have visited a few. I'm in the market for an affordable project auto x (3/4 time) and sat. night street (1/4 time) 2 gen. turbo w/ power to weight ratio of 7-/+. I have 5000 +/- to spend now and 7000++++ (I'm sure) to invest. I'm debating getting more bolt-ons, high miles and anticipating a soon engine swap, versus a more stock car with lower miles and upgrade. My thinking is bolt-ons depreciate in $ value at a faster rate than the useful life of. I am a noob to the sport, the forum, and the mr2 passion. Any feed back is well apprec.

Welcome. What part of Florida are you in? We have some track events in those areas sometimes, and quite a few of us are down that way.

Welcome!

If your looking for an MR2, be sure to check the MR2 for sale forum here on this board, www.mr2trader.com, and craigslist. There is always some clean MR2s for sale down that way. Probably cause noc keeps importing them to that area from different states

I,m in the longwood area of florida. Is there a web site that I can check the scheduling of the track days Ncturnal. I'm familiar with the Martin sports car club and that's it. It would be cool to gain some first hand insight.
