Hello from Suzanne Clark!
OK, NOT sure I am doing this correctly....my first time in here. ;-) Love mid engine cars, do not race...except on the freeways. ;-) Owned 3 MR2s, a 1985, and last year of orig body style, the 1989, until the poor thing was totaled (not my fault) and have owned my 1995 turbo for over a decade. I will attach pics. Car is all original except for wiring harness.
Cheers! |

Hi. Apparently too much of a load, cause the cable from starter to battery to become defective, so had the wiring worked on at this great shop that does wiring work for racing. They recommended beefing it up a bit so I would never encounter the issues again. $560.00 later, right as rain. All other wiring etc, is stock and no trouble. I saw the cable they replaced, it was absolutely un-bendable! It makes sense...there is a long way from the starter to the battery on this body style. I never encountered the issue on the orig body style, but then, the battery was right there in the engine compartment on the 1985...but if I recall, did they not move the battery to the front in the 1989? I guess it was still a shorter throw....I do seem to recall the battery being moved in 1989, which is better that it not be in that hot engine enviornment...and this is how Porsche did things, too...battery is up under the front bonnet/hood.

Welcome to the board! I'd love to see some pics of your car, the '95 turbos are as rare as it gets.

Thanks for the compliment, Sirc...I totally love the car. It has been very pampered, but I do get it into triple digits often enough so I can say it has been driven correctly or as intended. :-)
