You have to tip it with an engine leveler. Its gonna be really hard to do, so I'd suggest to go from the bottom. This way is much easier than from the top. I put mine in within 1 hour.

Did you look into http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/mr2modproject.htm yet?

You can't get the engine in from the top with a cherry picker... I guess it might be possible if it was 4 feet elevation higher than the car. That will not happen in a garage.

WHY is it so critical that it be installed from the top. You mentioned that "the tranny hit when i took it out". What does that mean?

good luck anyway

Did you look into the website I gave you? I followed that and it was as if I've done it before.

Set your engine on some cardboard or a furniture dolly, remove your rear bumper cover and bolt a chain to the rear tow loops, then use your cherrypicker to lift the back of the car. Slide engine out the side.

Assembly is the reverse.

Rather than removing the rear bumper, you can also use a tow strap attached to the engine hoist and pick up the car using that, so it doesn't damage any paint. I found that to be much quicker and easier.

Just get a bigger jack, and some tall suv jackstands. Jack the rear of the car up to where is 2.5-3ft in the air (be carefull when you do this and use multiple stands and blocks for the front wheels). You can simply roll the motor under on a furniture dolly. Leave the intake mainifold off for lower clearance.

Take the wheels off the car. Lower the car down over the motor carefully. Bolt up the passenger side mount and then the driver's side mount. Jack the car back up and install your wheels.

This approach is very easy. I was able to uninstall/reinstall my motor by myself in about 8hrs total.

Or you can just buy a car hoist.

Why do all of the V6's go in from the top in the pics that I've seen? Are V6's smaller than our engines? I didn't understand that one unless it's result of beating the **** out of the engine bay for it to fit or something.

^ The V6 is definately shorter, leaving more space between the strut tower and the engine.
