I'm not sure but when you do buy one please let other mkiii owners that there is an mkii and mki out there too. When I've approached woman mkiii drivers about the mr2 and meets they usually seem disinterested. Maybe it's the demographic.

Precat failure was common with early MKIII MR2s. I would say your best bet is to buy a car that has had religious Toyota dealer servicing, as those shops were well aware of the problems. Thanks for showing up Make sure to show us some pics of the Spyder when you get one. I love those things ![]()

It's a pretty new car, and a Toyota, so reliability-wise, you're in good shape. Just look for somebody who's taken good care of their car and not abused it. Good luck in your search, and welcome to the board.
