Trying to Keep Him Hummin'
I am new/old to these boards... I am the original owner of a ragtop MKI that needs a few things to get back up to original condition. I hope to find connections here, to get him back up to snuff-- and possibly learn about some mods which might improve him without changing his stock look.

Welcome to the board - great to hear someone with a rare MK1 has made it here. If you have any mk1 questions, I'm always willing to give an answer!

Will try to soon
I don't have a digital camera right now, but when I get mine back, I will try to post some picks... I am torn between wanting to maintain the original nature of my car and wanting to improve the power (eventually)-- I see CPUZapper has a ton of mechanical knowledge-- unfortunately, I am across the country from him (though I once lived in Portland, while flying for the ANG there)... anyway, any tips on where to find these parts (exhaust manifold for N/A-- ceramic coated if possible; passenger's side seat belt retraction mechanism; original leather shifter knob cover) would be appreciated.
