Oh hey, another one's got the fever ;-)
I'm not as new to MR2 as my join date implies, but next to most of you still a rookie when it comes to MR2... I'm originally from NJ and moved to Germany in 1991. You gotta love this place - I'm actually allowed to drive my mister as fast as she'll go (God, that's some kind of a contradictive sentence... drive my mister as fast as she'll go?!!! Kinda like jumbo shrimp....)
I got my mister in July of 2004 - she's a beaut: - '91 SW20, NA 156 HP, 3S-GE Motor, black on black (no leather ) -I got her for a song and a dance with only 120,000 KM on her back. She had only seen one owner before me and that was a "nice girl" that only drove her between April and October - just like I do!!! The car has never seen any salt and if you put her on a lift, well, you can tell!!! Everything was original (ok, not the sound system ) until I found out the original tires weren't being manufactured anymore. Now I've got 17"x7" wheels all around with 205/40 ZR 17 on the front an 215/40 ZR 17 on the back. I'm gonna have to see about lowering her and widening the stance a bit - everything costs money to get it enterned into the cars registration papers. The German inspection is quite particular about what's allowed. Rule of thumb? If you have patience and money you can tune and install about anything here!!!I just some clear glass blinlers that are going in on the weekend. I think that's going to ba all this year. I'll start again in the spring. In the mean time I just want to drive my girl (mister?!!) crazy!!!! |

I enjoyed the humor. Welcome to the board. So what made you move to Germany? I've never been, but I've always been interested in visiting.

Welcome to the board. You can post some of your pictures in your members gallery too. What do you have for a sound system now? |

Sorry guys - I guess while you were all posting in this thread I was sleeping (and working!). I'm home now and back at my computer...
So, why did I move to Germany? I met a beautiful German girl in NYC and married her after a courtship of 6 weeks I just had my 19th anniversary After the twins arrived she was feeling a little homesick and I was pretty flexible - so we picked up and moved to Germany. I probably would have never gotten involved with MR2s if I hadn't Hmmm, maybe it was an exageration to call what I have a sound system - let's put it this way: it's not the original cassette radio thing from a 91 MR2! It's really nothing special, but I installed it myself ![]() For everything else I have to hire someone Thanks for the nice welcome! |

Germany's been good to me. I retrained here - basically grew up and decided to do something besides make music. I'm a systems administrator for an American based Medical Technology company. I got a good chance by coming to Germany. I would probably still be jobbing around if I hadn't left the States! But please, please, don't get me wrong!!! I miss the good ol' US of A all the time! Germans are quite different than Americans (once you get past capitalism...)
