Repairing my wrecked 93 N/A; Houston, TX

Any suggestions? I have had it for 5 years and love my MR2. I just moved to Houston from Florida. Had a front end wreck, so I'm painting the whole car. I will probably go with a body kit of some kind and have been checking them out. I'm watching the boards.

Any suggestions on paint, body panels, a great shifter knob, or about selling my stock mag 15" rims for a set of 17" rims?

Any info about turbocharging the N/A or finding a supercharger for it? I will be checking the forums and past posts.

Thanks!

Bill

1. Make sure you repair the front end structual damage correctly and have the title cleared, no one wants a shaudily repaired salvaged title car if you ever plan to sell it!
2. I actually quite like the stock body, but I also think that if someone could somehow make a front bumper that incorperates the RX-7 '99+ fog lights and front lip, that would be tight. Also, bomex sides, or any sides that aren't tacky but still eliminate the middle fin in the side vents look really good. '94+ tail lights are a must, and either a '94 wing or a '98 wing. Couple that with a Turbo engine lid, and body trim painted the same color as the car, a nice set of rims, you you would have one ****ing sick MR2.
3. If you want power, relativley cheaply, I'd suggest buying and installing either a 2nd gen or a 3rd gen 3SGTE. The 2nd gens are pretty cheap, make good power, and really aren't that hard to install. If you're afraid of an engine swap, don't be. You and a garage full of people who have never done it before with a case of beer could probably get it done in a weekend of working if you've at least done your research.

If you sold your stock wheels how much would you want for them?

I am in Houston as well so there would be no need to ship.

A Houston MR2 club?

A whole line up of MR2s in one spot would be awesome. Show, talk, swap/trade/locate parts, compare, help, cruise .... what could be bad about that. It would be great. Count me in after I get mine back on the road in a few weeks.

Perhaps a Regional someday.

I'm not sure what a good price for the Toyota 15" tires and rims would be. The tires are brand new (way less than 3,000 miles; probably 1500) and the rims are in good condition. I will look at them Tuesday at the shop and can let you know more.

Okay, a small confession.

I had this MR2 (my second one) as my primary car for only a little while. Since I made the 3000GT my daily driver my sister has taken the MR2. I still turn the wrenches on it but get to drive it under 5% of the time.

Anywho, I can get the car for a cruise down to Galveston or something. Some other group of guys in SE Texas had a caravan down I 45 a few years back and they packed the Bolivar Ferrry with MR2s....I will post pics if I find them.

Oh, and not to hijack this thread but if you are in Houston you may want to read this thread:

http://www.mr2board.com/forums/mk-2-...ouston-tx.html

I will reveal the location of the car as soon as I get 2 thing from it sometime this coming week. Sorry to be a stick in the mud about that but I can't let these 2 parts get away from me.

I can't wait long. Idea ...

I am only in town this week and then I'm gone for two. I am meeting the shop and insurance adjuster Tuesday and the availability of parts will be critical info for me. How about meeting and going to the salvage yard together? If not, maybe I could sign something in blood that I won't get the two parts you need.

Do you need the rims/tires from my car, or just curious?

I sent you an e-mail with my phone number.
