H-Town new guy
Hello all, just bought my black '91 NA mr2 a couple weeks ago from a friend of mine. the body is in great shape as well as the interior. I dropped the engine out last weekend and took the head to the shop for a valve job and resurfacing(the p/o warped the head a little bit) other than that I'm gonna clean everything up, throw in a set of new rings and call it done...till I have the chedder for a V6 swap. I'll try and get pics of it. My other ride is a '91 Miata Special Edition, which I also have future plans for. I live in Clear Lake and go to school University of Houston in Clear Lake, and I'm graduating in December, effin finally! Need that real job to support the addicting habit of modifying cars. The Mr2 should be done by next weekend if I can get the head back in time...no pun intended.

@C3LZ0:
The car should be back up in two weeks tops, like I said, if i get the head back from the shop by this friday and don't encounter any more issues i.e. rod bearings, or crank bearings, then the engine should be put back together and maybe in the car this weekend. The main reason I took it out of the car was to clean everything up, it had been leaking oil and just looked disgusting. But yes, I would definately be down for a ride sometime, I'm trying to find cheap fun things to do, barhopping is not cheap, cruising is a lot cheaper and more fun. @Weasy2k: From what I've been reading, the 3vz-fe looks like a pretty nice and simple swap with decent power. Plus I saw the video of the supercharged v6 mr2 (don't actually know what v6 was in it) and I came...twice. |
