Cylinder head EGR modification
Hi guys. In another thread you said you charge $750 to drill the JDM head for EGR. Does that price include the labor of R & R the head from the car? In other words, if I remove my head and ship it to you, would the price be the same or would I get a discount from the labor savings?
Other options I'm looking into are buying a USDM head but I haven't seen any floating around the for-sale ads. Would I be able to swap all my JDM head components onto a bare USDM head, or are there certain incompatibilities that would prevent me from doing this? Do you guys have any heads laying around? I'm trying to be emisisons-legit but I don't have much money at the moment Ok thanks.Edit: I have the gen2 motor, in case that matters. Last edited by Sylvan; 09-26-2007 at 07:12 AM. |

our shop is in Fairfield, CA so you can either drop the car by there or the head if you choose to remove it.
if the head is off or engine is out of the car i only charge $175 to drill the head..... is much easier that way and bits are less prone to breaking i could travel to where you are and drill the head out of the car also for an additional fee.as for USDM and JDM cylinder heads.... they are exactly the same except for the lack of EGR passages (JDM).... once the JDM head is drilled there is no difference at all |

Awesome, that sounds very reasonable. Are you open on weekends? It would probably be worth a drive out there. Would I need to make an appointment, or can I just drop by?

That's cool, Fairfield isn't really all that far away. I thought you guys were actually in Chico and I was dreading a 4-hour drive. By the way, do you do wheel bearings? One of mine in the back is toast and I thought maybe I could kill two birds with one trip.
