89621-16020 is supposed to be the one that works with gen3. In fact thats the actual gen3 igniter part number according to searches here and on the oc.
I read thats the same ignitor thats found on some tercels. You should check a junkyard and see if they have one, try it, if youre still at 6800 rpm redline Id suspect something else is wrong. 89621-26010 is the PN that replaced 89621-16020. Theyre both supposed to work. |

I think you should take Josh up on his offer to send you an igniter and if it works for you to pay for it, or to send it back if you dont want it. Its shipping both ways, but could be useful for troubleshooting.
If you have 2 of same known gen3 igniters on there do the same thing, you know your issue isnt your igniter. You could always find one of those igniters off a Tercel too. |

Gen3 swap DONE!!
|
hey I'm definitely considering the offer but right now I got a few other issues with the car that popped up. I need to replace my left rear strut and I might just replace all of them when I do it. The cars just a damn money pit. Lol Maybe in a week or so. Also I'm definitely not going over 6800 RPM's with the igniter I have on there so I will need to fix this once the other problems are fixed.
