Quote on swap
I am just curious to know how much you would charge for a rebuild on a 5sfe? Or would it be easier to just swap another 5sfe or 3sge/ 3sgte( if legal in California). How do you guys price this?

a rebuild on a 5sfe just depends on what you're looking for. can email me direct and we can discuss it the_mister3@yahoo.com
as for the 3sge none are smog legal in MR2s because they are either too old (celica GTS 87-89) or JDM/foreign market only. |

Do you have 1993 3SGTE kits that can meet California smog regulation?

Yea, I was thinkin I might have to have the smog stuff if I was to buy a JDM 93 clip.
But I can't afford that idea, so I might have to put in the 5SFE that I already have instead of a turbo. But its from a 1991, and I'm trying to put it into a 1993. Is there a converter you sell to switch the speedometer cables to a digital signal? And is there anything else I might need to make that swap possible? I would much rather have a 1993 5SFE though |

Gen3 swap DONE!!

all you gotta do with the speedo is put the electric speedo sensor into the trans thats going in the car. If both transmissions are the same, which I'm pretty sure they are might wanna check that out first, the electic one and the mechanical ones just swap out.

the only legal swap for the MR2 would be the gen2 3sgte engine or the same as original engine which came with the car (3sgte or 5sfe).
it is possible to do v-6 swaps from Camry and get them smog legal but those are a huge waste of time IMO... definitly makes a MK2 less valueable |

91/92 $2250 + install labor + additional parts
93 w/LSD $2750 + install labor + additional parts EGR addition (for CA emissions) $500 includes parts or $800 if done while engine is in the car (in case anyone was wondering) |

about $5500:
$3750 clip $1500 labor $200 misc parts and then if you need a bunch of extras done that adds up as well... thinge like t-belt, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, t-stat, water pump, clutch kit, resurface flywheel, rear main seal, etc. |
