Well, the weird thing about XP is SOMETIMES the online activation worked just fine after a reformat, but other times it told me the copy had already been activated and told me to call Microsoft. I did, and they asked me what I was trying to do and I just told them that my computer crashed and I was re-installing Windows XP.

It worked every time, and they gave me a new registration number. I'm sure the same thing can be done with Vista. And it's worth it to say that most of the time I was actually telling the truth about having to reinstall XP. lol

My aunt is the head of software piracy at Microsoft.

That's absurd. I have Vista on my laptop and had it on my game rig. The only reason I took it off of my game rig is because I have two video cards in it in an SLI configuration, and nVidia's Vista SLI drivers currently suck.

Both machines performed way better than when XSP SP2 was installed, not to mention the much inproved functionality and interface.

Maybe you should pay less attention to what you hear people say, and more attention to your own experiences.

ninja edit: I use 64-bit Ultimate on my laptop, and 64-bit Home Premium on my game rig, respectively.

You can install around up to 3 times before it locks itself. Then you can call Microsoft and tell them you situation to keep putting it out there....or just get a key gen. hahaha.
