I-touch gift...

My niece and her hubby gave me their 7gig itouch that they weren't using and it's cool and all for the music, but I can't figure this **** out.
Syncing wat the ? I did manage to get rid of all the photos to free up some space, but now i'm completely lost trying to add some music.
I get the dunce hat, i know....

download itunes, then put cd's you want on it into your computer and it will ask you to rip them. tinker with it and youll be able to copy music to it. all sync does is match the ipod with the music on your computer. you know put the songs from your pc to your pod. really its a pain in the ass. i am more a fan of the sandisk sansa. works like a usb thumb drive. easy day

or without using Fail-tunes, you can just drag and drop the files into the folder.

Is it used? It sounds like you had some stuff on it already. Did you restore it before you tried to sync it?

Restoring it would erase everything and turn it back to default settings.

Yes it has a good amount of music on it, some i want to keep, some i don't.
So I don't think i want to restore it.
It'll be awhile before I get tired of whats on there, so i keep putting off leaning the ropes.

the computer it is tied to will definitely be an issue, since you have not restored it.

Is there any way you could get the music and manually put it on the computer you use most? Otherwise syncing to your own computer might become problematic. Do you have regular access to the computer the i-touch is currently synced to?

I have to admit that's the first thing I noticed. But then I realized no one else said anything, so I didn't want to be the one to bring it up.

I don't want to do this chit in the morning, or the evening...looks like it's not gonna get done...oh well.
