Eric vs. Seth, 3sgte vs. 1mzfe

PIR was awesome, haha. I figured both Seth and Eric would be pretty even. Seth has the stock 1mz with the restrictive ghetto emissions exhaust. Eric has the stock 3sgte with the trans that grinds and clutch that slips at high revs. So they both need some more work still. Off the line Seth's car pulls nice and clean with very little if any wheelspin. We were watching them race from behind the stageing line and you could tell the v-6 always launched faster. Down the track though, you could see the 3sgte pull with the boost. Judgeing from the 1/4 times they are almost dead even with only a .2 of a second difference between the best times. The trap speeds though show the 3sgte reeling the 1mz in. That may be due to the small exhaust on the v-6 choking off it's higher rpm power. With a better clutch the 3sgte should launch better. We are going to have to rebuild Eric's trans to fix the grinding and then install the TRD LSD he has. Not sure when we're gonna get around to workin on both cars but that should help with the 1/4 times. That was Eric's first time at the track and Seth's second time so i believe they are quite capable of hittin mid 14's with stock set-ups. I'd just like to say " GOOD JOB!" to both of them and everyone else had a great time watching them grudge, haha.

On a side note, i think they are doing great and am hoping they continue to improve. Cause it gives me and idea of what project91 can be capable of. I figure if i dont break anything, haha, i should be at least a good second faster down the 1/4 since i'm fully gutted with my swap. And " NO, IT'S NOT RUNNING YET, SO PLEASE STOP ASKING ME WHEN IT'S GOING TO BE DONE." LOL.

BEFORE you rip that tranny down for a rebuild, drain the junk out of it and fill it with Synchromesh. You can get GM or Pennzoil (or others). The GM is by far the most expensive, the Pennzoil is only $5/qt. at Autozone.

If you've never used Synchromesh, prepare to be amazed.
