New set-up + more power = New personal best---pics and vids

Tonight I got out to the track on my new set-up. Pretty tired so I'll keep it short. Keep in mind the temperature was 40* and dropping fast ending the night at around 36* or so. So my 60' times reflect that. I cut consistant 1.7's the last time out early september in 80* weather with the street tires.

First pass blew a coupler off (didn't tighten it cause I just had it off and forgot heh)

Second pass ran a 12.6 @ 118.15 at 18 psi. Mind you the outside temp was 40's and dropping fast and I was on street tires at the moment. Spin through first and all the way through second. Just can't hook anymore with the new power/tq. Here's the slip

Third, I raised the boost to 19.5 and I got a better launch and an overall better run but still no traction but a faster time and a new personal bet at that point. 11.8 @ 120.64 witha 1.936 60'. I blipped the 3rd gear rev limit on accident so that hurt my time and speed.

Fourth run I put on a set of MT drag radials. Warmed the tires up nice. This was my first time ever running DR's so it was all based of what I have read. Worried about snapping a spline I kept the revs low, well I bogged as a result. Then missed second gear horribly.... Cut a 12.3 @ 119 with a 1.900 60'.

After learning a lot from that run and knowing that it's my last pass of the night. I said ____ it and raised the boost to 21 psi. I also decided to bounce the rev limiter (around 8k) and dump the clutch and just power through. Well that payed off. Still spun through first but hooked hard in second and launch off. Cut a 1.7 60' and anew personal best at 11.4 @ 121.83 mph.

Videos in the next post. I also shoot HHUUUUGGGGEEEEEE ass flames on a decel on the highway from like 140 down. haha Big ol fire balls.

I am now shooting for a 10.9. I am sure I can hit it once I cut a good 60' (a low 1.5) and I'm going to up the boost. Actually, once I get my 2 step hooked up and the SBC-id in there that actually holds a boost setting rather than spiking and dropping I think that will be enough.

Oh yeah last night when I got home I was checking things over and I looked at the tires. There is a fresh groove where the fender was rubbing when I launched. I have new coilover suspension and I was rushing but I raised the ass up quite a bit. Roughly an inch worth of gap. Guess it wasn't enough. Next time I will raise it to around a 2" gap. The nose shot up so high though. If I could nail the launch I'm sure I could put some air between the front tires and the pavement.

Awesome time! Wow how much HP do you think you're making and which turbo is it? This is faster than most supercars you could buy... The fenders are really sharp on the inside you could just 'roll' the inside of them to bend the sharp edge upwards. but you will might crack the paint there in the process.
