hey i was wondering if anybody has raced a 05 mustang gt in a mostly stock 3rd gen mr2. if so how close was the race and who won. i was just wondering cause i have a stupid co worker who thinks his mustang is ungoddly fast. i want to know if i need to put my nos in or not. thanks dylan

another one of these...well stock for stock a jdm 3rd gen should win. its mostly in the driver though.

The gen3 will stomp him with any decent driving. Believe me, gen3's are the chit. With great driving and a few bolt-ons you can run mid 13's with your gen3. That should be about 1 second faster than him if he is stock. Even with I/H/E on the Mudstain, you should still take him. Race him from a dig, that will give you an advantage.

So unless u crank the boost on the mr2 u going to lose. Equal drivers of course. There is no way u get 13.5 out of a stock gen3.

with an ok driver expect mid-high 13s... they're 300hp and hook pretty decent for an FR car

I/H/E on the new 3 valve 4.6, he'd better have more than the stock gen3 from what I've seen. We're talking a solid 13.0 car with an ok driver on street tires

it'll be a close race and come down to driver i'd bet, stock vs stock

Yeah, bench racing is dumb.

Ive beaten several new mustang GTs in my GEN2 with just a boost controller and gutted primary cat as mods (JDM motor on a USDM ECU, so there isnt really any gain on that one there).

But Ive also beaten a mildly modded gen3 as well so it could go both ways.

Either way its a dumb thread.
